To listen to music on this site, you must have an audio player for your computer
that plays MP3 file types. We use and recommend either the
MusicMatch Jukebox or
RealJukebox players.
Basic versions of these audio players can be downloaded for FREE from each of the
respective manufacturer's websites (click the links above). Follow the download
and installation instructions provided by the manufacturer for your specific
computer.
Once you have an audio player installed on your computer, listening to music from our
site is easy. Simply click anywhere you see a Lo-Fi or Hi-Fi button, which look like this...
lo-fi hi-fi | |
Within seconds after you click a Hi-Fi or Lo-Fi button, the file will begin to download,
and you should see a download progress dialog window, which will look similar to this...
After the sound file has been downloaded to your computer, it should begin playing immediately
(depending on how your player is configured). Since the sound clip is now stored on your computer,
you can play it as many times as you'd like without having to wait for it to download each time.
How long does it take to download music, anyway?
The Lo-Fi version will download faster (takes about 1 minute over a 56K modem) but the
sound quality is reduced. The Hi-Fi version downloads slower (about 4 minutes) but
is closer to CD quality. We recommend listening to the Lo-Fi version first. If you like
what you hear but want to hear a better quality version before purchasing, then
listen to the Hi-Fi version. (Note: The CD you purchase will be actual CD quality,
even better than the "near CD quality" Hi-Fi version you download from our site.)
How do I know if I have the correct software to play MP3 files?
Try playing a song now. Just click the Lo-Fi button under the Artist Spotlight section on this page. If
it downloads and plays, you've got it! If not, follow one of the links on this page to download a player.
Enjoy!
